GMWA Houston Chapter Women’s Division Celebrates Christmas Musical with Song and Service
TEXAS CITY, TX – On Saturday, December 20, 2025, the Women’s Division (Jewels) of the Houston Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) hosted its annual Christmas Musical at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church. The event, themed "The One Voice, One Choir," brought together a diverse group of women from Galveston County and surrounding areas to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ through powerful musical ministry.
Hosted by Rev. Dr. S.V. Adolph, Pastor of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, the musical served as both a spiritual celebration and a community outreach initiative. Under the leadership of First Lady Karen Adolph, Chairlady of the Women’s Division, the "Jewels" used the platform to advocate for local women in need.
In a show of community solidarity, attendees contributed a significant collection of female hygiene products and toiletries. These donations were dedicated to the Baby Stewart Foundation, a local organization committed to providing essential resources and support to unhoused women.
"This event was a beautiful testament to what happens when we blend our voices, hearts, and spirits," said First Lady Karen Adolph. "We are called not only to praise but to support one another, and seeing the singers and community come together for the Baby Stewart Foundation was truly a blessing."
The Houston Chapter of the GMWA continues to be a pillar for gospel music excellence and community service in the Greater Houston and Galveston County areas.
